Pro Blogging Tips: How to Install WordPress Plugins

Most of bloggers who are doing pro blogging know how WordPress plugins can benefit their professional blog. Tips on how to install wordpress plugins are simple with the advance of WordPress version. There are 2 ways to install WordPress plugins:

• Search all kinds of plugins from your WordPress blog, install and activate immediately from your blog.
• Download the plugins and save them to your PC.  The WordPress Plugins come from other sources outside your WordPress blog. Then, you can upload them back to your blog.

You can  get more WordPress plugins from WordPress Org or  other sites such as Maxblogpress Plugins. Maxblogpress offers free plugins but with the preconditions that you subscribe to their newsletters and write a blog post about their plugins.

The key points that you shall consider when you choose WordPress plugins :

• Popularity and Rating. High rating or popular plugins means more bloggers use the plugins and they are likely reliable.
• The latest date of the plugins update. The plugins which have the date of latest update one or two years ago may no longer be supported by the author. So, don’t use these old plugins.

I did add old WordPress plugins once and they didn’t function properly because the author already abandoned the plugins.  Finally, I found that Google Feedburner can act as a twitter updater and it is working well for my professional blog. I also use Link Within instead of WordPress related posts plugin. You can use these 2 plugins for your free hosting blogs such as blogspot. Keep in mind that it is not compulsory you choose WordPress plugins for your pro blogging. You can choose other plugins as long as they work well with your WordPress blog.
